Special Exhibition: Art at the Yokosuka Municipal Yokosuka Sogo High School, a History

2021 Sat December 18 〜 2022 Sun April 3

Closed: Wed December 29 – Mon January 3, January 11, February 7, and March 7

Yokosuka Municipal Yokosuka Sogo High School has made painting and sculpture the core programs in its art club’s activities. Its students’ambitious efforts have produced remarkable results at many public-entry exhibitions and contests. In recent years, the art department has also emphasized holding exhibitions in Yokosuka, including the Compass Needle Path at Yokosuka City Hall. With increasing calls for making these works viewable by more people, the Yokosuka Museum of Art will display, in one setting, outstanding works by current and former members of the high school’s art club. This exhibition introduces a full view of the high school’s more than fifteen years of art activities through 150 select works by 90 students.
