The Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava is commonly
known as BIB. It is the world's largest competition of original illustrations for picture books held every two years in
Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic. Works sub-
mitted to the 29th Biennial (BIB 2023) will travel all the way
from Europe to Yokosuka Museum of Art.
275 illustrators from thirty-six countries participated in
the 29th Biennial (BIB 2023) with 355 picture books. In this
exhibition at Yokosuka Museum of Art, in addition to the
Grand Prix and other prizewinners, there will be a display of
works by the ten units who took part from Japan, namely
Abe Hiroshi, Arai Ryoji, Ishikawa Eriko, Kikuchi Chiki, Saito
Maki, The Cabin Company, junaida, Tajima Yukihiko, Horikawa Rimako, and Momoyama Suzuko, together with relevant
archival materials.
