Reopening Exhibition
2026 Collection Exhibition 1

2026 Sat September 5 〜 2027 Sun January 17

During this exhibition period commemorating our museum’s reopening, we display works that recently joined the collection through acquisitions or donations.
In Exhibition Hall 4, the Asai Kan’emon gallery, we present, in addition to Western-style and ink wash paintings, reference materials that had belonged to Asai’s friend, the Western-style painter Ōkōchi Nobuhiro.
Exhibition Hall 5 features work by the photographers Kitai Kazuo and Moriyama Daidō, both of whom addressed Yokosuka in the 1960s, plus Yokosuka Detail, by the print artist Fujita Osamu.
Exhibition Hall 6 provides a place to experience Harada Kazuo’s sound sculptures.
Prints that Komai Tetsuro, Hamaguchi Yōzō, and Ikeda Masao created in the 1950s and 1960s are displayed in Exhibition Hall 7, while the North Gallery presents paintings and prints by Arakawa Shusaku, Tatsuno Toeko, and Kobayashi Takanobu. Together, they introduce the new steps being taken to build the collection.
